How has life been for you under Covid-19?

I have found the restrictions of lock down very difficult. We all have our own bubbles in which we live and having that taken away has been mentally challenging. I’ve enjoyed having family time and being able to slow down but the restrictions have felt suffocating and the situation has been scary. I have tried to maintain my wellbeing by being creative, writing poetry, drawing, painting and taking photos. I’ve also started a rainbow page, encouraging others to be creative. I’m also a brownie
leader, running online meetings.

What is your chosen creative activity and explain why you have chosen to do this piece

I have chosen to do a video poem, using my own photos and audio of me reading my poem. My daughter was my model, representing myself, my inner turmoil, mental health and connections to family and friends. My poem looks at the mental struggles of being in lockdown and the impact this can and will have.

I feel there will be a massive cost in the wake of this time and we are yet to see how much life has been lost or affected, mentally by lockdown. Also how we can feel guilty for having these feelings because our family and friends are well and safe. We are our own worst judges.
